Subject: Re: new racer by 19774x4 on 2011/12/8 19:20:49 its got a th350 turbo b/m master rebuild and shift kit, 3500 ptc stall 3.55 rear gears. the car was way to rich,i played with the carb, shanging rods then trying different jets and then springs until i got the right combow. then i started playing with timing and then tire pressure. tires are neeto streets 335/40/17s worked best at 17lbs.then i learned to drive the car, worked on the launch and little by little became a better driver. i started too mutch rpms, about 2800, droped to 2500 at launch and it hooked great after that.this took from july to the last of aug. to get the car where its at now. also what helped alot was that the track was resurfaced before my last two times of 8.00 at 88mph.iam sure that the new track helped some, but i learned alot about how the car wanted to run. that 9.48 was the very first time down track ever and kept getting better as i worked on my driving and on the car. |
