Why is the a 4 link rule on a car that was originally an IRS?

A 4 link makes it too much of a real race car.

I even offered to keep the traverse leaf spring back there but that was a no go.

Most of the cars in the class are Fox Mustangs which have a triangulated 4 link stock.... As would a G Body GM car. The stuff I have seen people fabricate under those cars is insane. Small tire Pro Mods.

We considered building mine a triangulated 4 link like that and also a TQ Arm F Body suspension as well. The short length upper bars being angled out bothered me and I thought a 3 link would be freeer and offer more adjustment than the TQ Arm.

I still have the option to easily put an F Body TQ arm under it if the rules change.
