Subject: Re: 2017 Winter Upgrade/Update thread by rklessdriver on 2017/9/19 16:44:39 Got the intake manifold completed. I got sidetracked with 2 other things. (1) Fooling around with my cyl heads as they needed to be surfaced to clean up some minor brinneling from the head gaskets. (2) going with my dad to help customers (3 of them) at the dirt oval track (Senoia Speedway) Saturday night.... worked out well for the shop cars. Our Hobby car finished 2nd in the race and wrapped up the season points championship with 3 races still left. Our Crate Late Model also finished 2nd in the race and also wrapped up the seasons point championship. Our Limited Late Model ended up finishing 5th in the race. He's like 7th in the points. Not bad for him, as he is only in his second season as a race car driver period and he's competing in one of the top classes. He should have started out in Hobby or something less demanding/competitive to gain driving experience but it's his money. We only build the engine. I haven't been to a dirt oval race in a long time and if I go again anytime soon, I will be temped to sell the drag car and build myself a Late Model. I use to hot lap my dads Super Late Model when I was 16-17yrs old and had a Hobby car that I raced weekly back then.... I haven't driven on dirt in over 20yrs....
