Subject: Re: Conversations with a Pearl Harbor Survivor by Vetron87 on 2009/9/12 4:35:55 My dad was a Navy fighter pilot in the south pacfic, he never talked about WW2. He took his shirt off one hot summer day when I was just a kid and his torso was disfigured beyond belief, machine gun fire, had 2 hellcats shot out from under him. Never said much until I went to Vietnam in 69. He and I had a long talk about the horror of war and how it would change me forever. He was right it did!! He died in 92, sad thing is I never really knew him!!!but I'm proud that he was a member of the Greatest Generation.. |
