I did it a bit different because I didn't want to use the 3/8th shoe. I let the edge against the wall loose until I got ready to reinstall the molding so I could shim the floor up to match the bowes in the molding, then I facenailed.


It doesn't make much sense to leave a 3/4 gap in the starter board anyway since it's nailed and glued to the floor. Trust me, it's not expanding 3/4 of an inch. I'm gonna go with 3/8 I believe.
