Subject: Re: Dunkirk- Little ships by Fluff on 2010/5/28 13:15:44 Without be quiet as eloquent as Tommy, which agreed was an excellent post, they had some balls making that journey across the channel. I was reading that some of the smallest 'ships' (only boats really) didn't even have a compass and were told to just head for the smoke on the other side!. Even Churchill was only expecting 20-30k to be rescued but they got closer to 400k. I agree with Tetron... the greatest generation is passing on... god bless em all, as Tommy say's... from all nationalities. |
