After that, we have airplanes. We are too large. I used to believe that highspeed rail was a viable option, but airlines kill it. Here in CA, we have 4 major metro areas, LA, San Diego, San Fran and Sacramento. They want to create a train to run between all four and include Reno and Vegas, and ultimately, Phoenex. It looses its punch when it would take 2.5 hours to train to SF, whereas it takes 1 hr to fly... and most airline tix are about $100 round trip. The math sucks. |
