[PR&C] by rklessdriver on 2011/3/22 13:04:14 Politicians here in the USA will tell you that the US Govt is direct representation of the citizens and a dictatorship like Gaddafi's is just an opressive regeime bent on maintaining power at all cost with no care for the welfare of it's citizens. Of course anyone with half a brain knows that elections in the US are rigged. Bought and paid for by the special interest group with the most time, effort and $$$. Heck before elections are even held, who is able to run for office is rigged by the Pubs and Dems... Citizens here ignore it because they are too caught up in their twitter account or whatever Charlie Sheen/LiLo/ect is doing this week. In truth the difference between US and them is smaller than even I like to believe. Elected politicans here have nothing in common with regular people. They could give a crap if we are suffering as long as we keep on buying the BS they and their special interest group handlers are selling. A Gaddifi just tells his people how it's going to go down. Here they still tell us how it's going to go down... at least they still try and act like we can make a choice (even thou we really can not). That is the difference. Were civil violence to break out in the USA (and it does all the time on various scales), it would go down much like you suspect. Local and state police would be the front line. If things get further out of hand, they call in the State National Guards. If that still can't keep the people in their place, then call out the military (ala civil war).
