Probably because it's rich in history and serving was a time honored tradition. I know plenty of guys that got waivers for education, pscychological issues, physical issues or sexual preference. Some took a trip to Canada. I never berated anyone. My father served, his father served, and his father served. We have a history of military service that dates back to the Civil War. My son broke the chain, the result of a plate in his wrist. He even had it removed in an attempt to join the Air Force but was denied. It's tough to serve today. Iraq and Afganistan are two wars that few understand. All I can say is to those that served ![]() |
