I have over 10 hours into this job.

Humm, that would be $500 for me at the current friends/relatives rate in my garage.

What a coincidence. My current friends/relatives rate for that job was $0.

Ya know? That sounds like me....years ago....and not so much lately.

I know why you do it.....you like to help people out (and like working on cars). Me 2.

It changed for me when I figured out that those friends were always "busy" when I needed some help.

And that once you do the work for free they expect it to always be free.
Or the friends/neighbors that want to use your jackstands/tools and won't even commit to morning or afternoon......and then don't even show up at all, like you can stand around in your garage all day waiting for them to get off their ass.

Kinda like why I don't loan tools out anymore.

I'd still work on relatives stuff (cause you almost have too) or I'd work on 99% Guru's stuff for free.

But the rest is $50 per hour.
