Both could be power, neither could be.

However, if they are, they should move fore/aft and up down with little more than an electric motor whine....

Hey guys, I get to school this morning and about two minutes later the Superintendent comes in and asks if UI want the good news or the bad news first. I say give me the bad news. He proceeds to tell me that at the board meeting last night the board approved everyone's contract for next except mine and two other teachers. All three of us are the "double dippers". He said it was a stop gap measure until they find out what the state legislature does with funding for schools next year. He said "more than likely" that we would receive our contracts in May. In Kansas, the continuing contract law comes into effect, which the school board must let us know one way or the other what they intend to do about our contracts. Because we are DDing, we do not have the same rights as a regular teacher in whether or not we have tenure, so if they don't want to offer a contract, and they do not have to give us any reason, whatsoever. And we don't have a leg to stand on as far as Due-Process.

I am convinced that I will get a contract in May, but it is a bit unsettling to be left out. The board keeps saying they are behind the vocational programs 100%, but it makes me wonder.

Actually after the Supt. told me, I said "So, what's the bad news?" I could probably do just fine without teaching.

Hope you get to go as long as you want to go Tom....Uwoman was saying that here the State has stopped giving bonuses to schools for the amount of Master Degree teachers that they have.....for this school system it's about a half million year that just dissapeared....no phasing out over a couple of years...just gone....They have said no Riffing but to expect other cuts.....that would be Para's and other non esential personel.....whoever that would be....Principles????
