.got beat by a buck 29.....damn I hate those things how did he know I was going to bid 81 bucks at the end.

Ebay picks the next minimum bid amount...for example if it's a 99 cent item the next bid must be 1.05 or higher. Next bid after 1.05 must be 1.29 or higher...and so on. If you bid 81, the next bid might have been 82.29. The other bidder could have put in 150.00 (willing to pay), but ebay will take the next highest bid necessary to win the auction.

ebay raises it fitty cent, next, a dollah . It's the bidders that throw in the curves. Some guy prolly bid $81.29 to beat the $81 bid and the next guys autobid was a buck more. I bid off amounts all the time. That's because I'm slightly off. Sometimes the seller offers it at say $20.34. That's another way it stays off unless a bidder rounds it up.
