One of the projects the "Annapolis Home Brew Club" has been working on is a series of Bourbon Barrel Home Brewed beers. How this works is we picked up four recently retired 50 gallon oak bourbon casks and fill them up with beer. Let them age and then distribute to the original donors. After a specific recipe has been selected, each brewer contributes 5 gallons of that recipe to the cask. This makes it easier since most of us really only brew 5-10 gallons at a time. Last night we gathered at my friend Ron's house to distribute the aged Belgian Tripel that has been siting in the cask since spring time. All that needs done now is to carbonate it and chill. This Belgian Tripel is a bit sweet for my taste since I'm really a hop head but I think the ABV comes in around 10% which is pretty healthy for any ale. Cheers! Have a good day folks |
