Locally in my area I know there are 10-15 "profiteers" buying up every box of 22LR availiable. At the last gun show, (which is a very small show held at my VFW post) there were 4 people with tables stacked full of 22LR... One of the guys bragged to a buddy of mine (who is an FFL and had the table next to him) that he has a "group of retirees who go to the local Walmarts, Gander Mtn and Dicks stores every day to buy every box of 22LR on the shelf". I kid you not - This SOB had 2 tables and 22LR ammo stacked chest high covering every inch. He was selling the 333 box of Winchester for $40 and the 550 Federals or Remington 550's for $55 and the Remington Bucket-O-Bullets for $100.... Everybody knows they are $18, $29 and $59 at Walmart. If I go and check my local guntrader web sight there are 10-15 ads with people re-selling 22LR for 50% profit. In time it will pass. These people can't buy it all up forever and from what I saw at the last couple of gunshows regular people have stopped paying panic prices. It's just like the 2008 election all over again but it's on a bigger scale and hence taking longer to self corerct. Will |
