Last night around 7:15 my wife told me there was no hot water. Darn it. This is a $900 hot water heater that was new 3 years ago. I went to check on it and the gas was firing but no hot water. The electronic gas valve and wiring have been screwy in the past, so that must have been it, I figured. Regardless, I turned off the power and decided to drain the tank. I saw some sediment run out from the blow off valve and drain at the bottom, so it's always a good thing to drain and refill. Turned it back on and within a 1/2 hour or so we had hot water again. I noticed this morning that the shower had more pressure and was hotter, so I guess draining the tank did better than I anticipated.

Sorry to hear the dryer is on the fritz, Brad.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Funny. Just the other day our water was warm, not hot . I took off the panels and advanced, decreased and advanced the thermostats on both elements and I could hear it start heating. It's been working fine ever since.
