Yea Willows. The guys who run their street cars on the track think it's a long way too. For the racers, towing to Willows is like running over to the 7-11. It's only 4 1/2 hours for a normal tow (4 hours if I'm driving the tow vehicle Gary's a HPDE driver, he said "guess we have to get a hotel for 2 nights." , I laughed and said "I'll drive home that night." If I did a test day there when I was racing, I'd leave here at 3 a.m., run the race car all day and then drive home. Sears Point in Napa takes the same drive time. Laguna Seca is 6 /12 Las Vegas, Willow Springs and ButtonWillow are 8 1/2. And I always left the track at 5 p.m. and drove home, go to work the next day. Portland International is 12 1/2 but we use 2 drivers. |
