Hindsight is 20/20 but had we known then what we know now we would have just bought a new engine and would have done with it. Builder would not warranty the engine because we bought the parts. Engine was noisy on start up. He claimed it was the valves and ignition timing. We brought it to another shop that tore it down again. That mechanic says the pistons need shaving and the head gasket was wrong. I brought the pistons to a machine shop and ordered a new gasket kit. Right now the diesel mechanic that's working on it is trying to make it right for us. Needless to say he does not have a kind word for the first engine rebuilder. I can't say anything good about them either. Sue has been busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger. Looks like I'll be covering the nursery for a couple of weeks because the secretary is going on vacation for two weeks. Oh the joy. I'm behind on my chores because I've been running around doing honey do's. I have a delivery this morning, pick up the pistons and gasket kit then resume my regular activities (unless it rains). Then I'll resume another popular activity. May the good news be yours. |
