Without pictures to see exactly what you tlaking about, Letty, I'm going to guess, The button on the dash, to the right of the steering wheel is the start button, there is no place for a key. Just have to have the FOB close to start the car. I also guessing the car you were looking at was a 06 or newer, and an automatic? If so, the buttons on the steering wheel are the buttons to shift the trans when you are in "manual" mode.
