Some of the older pumps of the time wouldn't display 3 digits, so they set the pump price to 1/2 of what it really was. Then they had a sign on the pump reminding you that you owed double what the pump actually read. And at the time, I thought $10 for a fill up was going to send me to the poorhouse.  |
