It has to come out from the front. It's not that hard, maybe on par with a C4 clutch! Actually easier. Ya gotta pull the bumper,grill and the top radiator/grill support. Mine had to be jacked up in the front because my engine crane is taller than most and hit the cowl below the windshield before it was ocet the center of the intake.

I sold the G20 (1977) two years ago with 358,000 on it. It still looked really good, everything still worked.
2 motors (second was the cheaper GM crate), 1 trans and 1 rear end rebuild (from towing the race trailer).
Great truck, bought it new for $6,300.
