It only creates yet another form of obstructionism. This is where Lincoln was so special. He was willing to let bygones be bygones knowing that the health of the union was worth more than the political fodder of retribution. Until modern politicians - from either side - learn this and truly embrace this, we will continue to have wide chasms of division in our country. It takes a strong person to not react to having been slapped down, and apparently, Nancy isn't one of them. I was wishing for more... but, alas, expecting more of the same. As for the Bush administration... corrupt? Na... misguided? Incompetent, sure. Corrupt implies criminal acts. Short of suspect intel, I don't see a trail there. |
