Lots of work and they are a PITA but bring great satisfaction and many learning experiences. For a while I lived in an old doctor's house, build in the early '20s. Plaster walls, push button switches, original wiring, all that. It was a very cool house with lot of windows made of those tiny panes and a huge enclosed porch with more of them with crank open window sections. I learned how to re-glaze them after getting a $6,500 estimate. I'd like to have the house back but hated where it was located. |
