Anything you could do to speed up your part of the line by 5% meant you could do the job with 5% less effort. Usually you keep that to yourself, but anytime I did find time to show the supervisor an idea, whether it was stacking palletes better or preventing the glue machine from jamming, she wanted nothing of it. I'm in charge, you are the peon, shut up and work. Ideas from the bottom probably rarely make it up to management. She wasn't in that position for her problem solving skills, she was there because she was a callous bitch and good at riding everyone's ass 5 days a week. |
