Amsoil vs Royal Purple vs Valvoline

Subject: Amsoil vs Royal Purple vs Valvoline
by Vetron87 on 2010/2/11 15:00:34

I know this topic has been covered before and an opinion is like your butt everybody's has one. However, my neighbor with an 08 Z06 has been using Amsoil and after 8,000 miles on the odometer has developed a ticking noise. It sounds to me as if the viscosity has changed as the oil and combustion process interact. His idea is to keep the oil in his engine for 10,000 more miles. He thought about changing to Royal Purple or Valvoline. He asked my opinion and told him I would consult with the guru's BTW he's is a techno/geek and would not join our blog because he knows nothing about cars.
