You're wasting your time trying to get him an answer. You'll do your research, listen to what we say, tell him what you've had good results from, and at the end of the day he'll buy what Consumer Reports last listed as the best budget oil; be it Valvoline, RP, Amsoil, or the no-name stuff the local gas station sells.

These people are all the same. They don't want to know what the builders, tuners, and racers are using. They want to use what some guy on TV or the internet says is good.

Drives me nuts.

Here's my anecdotal evidence - I've used Mobil 1 10W30 in the 'vette since day one. It's gold as far as I'm concerned. Every time I tear my engine apart and rebuild it everything is as beautiful as the day it was new. Mobil 1 seems to like 300* temps and 7200 RPM...
