OK . What's up with the 3K or 6 month issue ? ( whatever it is for whatever brand ) Does my oil go bad setting in the garage ?

What are asking in the "what's up" , Dean?

No, the oil doesn't go bad sitting in the garage. It's generally felt that when you store a car for a longer period, like 4 months, you should have fresh oil in the engine. "Used" oil in you engine gets acidic from the combustion process.
While it's true that your oil does get acidic, I've never seen an accurate test or data that shows used oil sitting for 3 months has a bad effect on the engine.
