I had a 61 Chevy 409 Impala Conv/4sp. in 1967. The dumbass gene kicked in on the last day of school as a senior. With six big guys in the car I reved the Chevy in front the school and dumped the clutch and threw the driveshaft across the street. Real fricking cool! My high school buds to this day never let me forget that stellar moment.
My buddy Jay in his 67 GTO thought he would wake up the cops at the local sub-station by burning out in front of the police station. He lost control of it and ended up on the sidewalk in front of the police station stalled out. They came running out. He told them his accelerator got stuck. (Way before Toyota) He just started it up and gently drove away. Buddies never forget.
