I never raced them pro like, but i did race them on sundays for a while, i have a 1/8th touring car with an OS .21 RZ engine and 2 speed trans in it, and although it was almighty bloody fast and incredibly powerful, it was extremely bloody thirsty too. It sucked down a full 125ml tank as quick as 3.5 minutes on the race track. It was only slighty faster in terms of top end than my 1/10th car, but the acceleration was way better from a standing start, the 21 engine really got it moving, and at 43,000rpm through the dual outlet CEVEC variable chamber exhaust (which were banned for racing here), it sounded as good as an F1 car.

The 1/10th car is alot better on fuel, and on the race track itll run alot longer on its 75ml tank. Ive got a couple videos, back in this time i was having alot of trouble getting it to handle good on the slipery surface, which was never an issue with the 1/8th due to its weight. Now that i have the handling sorted out, the 1/10th would easily out handle the 1/8th.

Here is a couple videos:

My car has the OS .12TR engine in it, very fast but not as much low end punch.
