Good Morning Gurus!

How's things?

I'm keeping busy at work. And I am working hard at spending all of that freelance money that I was going to buy a computer with....

My son has been wanting drum lessons for awhile. We actually bought him a set of drums last year, but we have two issues.

One is that it is in the basement. An unfinished area, where nobody really hangs out. And two, when he DOES go down there to play, it makes the rest of us want to leave the house!

So, I figured since I was spending all this money on new bass guitars and amps and stuff, I would look for a set of electronic drums so that I could get a little closer to having the home recording studio that I've always wanted. The added bonus being that my son can bang away on them with headphones on, and all we would hear is a little tapping noise every once in awhile.

So I found a used set. Yamaha DTExpress II. And I am starting to create a makeshift room in the basement for my studio.

Fun times! Now I can sign him up for drum lessons, and he can practice as much as he wants. Hopefully I can learn a thing or two as well. I can't play drums worth a crap right now. I kinda thought that being a former motorcyclist, I would have pretty good hand and foot coordination. NOPE!

My drumming pretty much sounds like somebody dropped a bunch of cardboard boxes down a long flight of stairs.

So, how was your weekend, folks?
