They were a treat to watch in the mid 70s and they're a treat to watch today. I used to cruise the flightline whenever something new came to town to get up close and take a peek. C5s, C141s and C130s on one end and fighter bombers on the other. Ya, I got the picss to prove it. Army had a Cobra repair shop there too so watched plenty of tests on those too. Sat in the jet blast on many a take off. Those were the days. And the smell ....smelled like ..... Victory. |
