Personally, they should do more to restrict engine output and let them do whatever they want with aero. A race car today, with half the power of 30 years ago, is twice as fast. So, halve the power again. When I raced RC cars, we had a class called "Busch." It was below "Pro-Stock". Some tracks called it "Sportsman." Either way, we limited the battery and motor, the rest was open, as long as they used a stock car body and pan style chassis. Both the battery and the motor were Trinity Spec Stock bits; they each cost about $20.00, so they were very affordable. Do that, and stop this micromanagement - more accurately, stop punishing the clever engineers. If they want turbo power, require that they use the I4, good start, then they must run on 87 octane pump gas. That will control power nicely. |
