Thursday Chat 02.24.11

Good Morning CGs!

Man, looking at the date this month has flown by already! Top it off with a short 28 days and we'll be in March in no time! Spring is around the corner....vette weather

So I feel like a dink. I usually do about 4 hours more research on parts than I need to. Well, I need to get some new gaskets for the upper intake when I pull my injectors, so I grabbed a part number off the internet, went over to Chevy and ordered it. GM #10174951. So I get it and take it home without really looking at it....I didn't open the baggie, but all I can see in it is the lower runner to manifold gaskets. WTF? Why would GM do that? Who replaces the lower gaskets and not the upper? Maybe the other gaskets are hiding in there? I dunno. [edit, I'm gonna have to look tonight when I get home!!!] But anyway it's a special order and no returns, and it's useless to me because I thought I could cut it up more for my porting, but it's for stock applications. So I did about 20 more minutes of searching and found I need Mr. Gasket 146 which is going to fit the larger diameter big tubes. Arrrgh. Just a waste of time and money. Ok, my rant is over. The moral of the story is double check your part numbers and application.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew
