Subject: Stemming the violence ........................ [PR&C] .... Music Minutes by TommyT-Bone on 2011/3/22 11:16:38 The United States and allied forces have launched over 100 Tomahawk Cruise Missles in an attempt to stem the violence in Libya. Although the US has pledged that none of our ground forces will be used, it is almost assured a contingent of peacekeepers from EU nations will land in an effort to restore peace to the Libyan people. Just for the sake of comparison I would like to present this hipocracy of entitlement. If there was an orginization in this country that were to rise up in arms against the institutions of local, state and federal government, would the United States government stand by and let the will of the dissenting group be displayed? Ya, right! First local police agencies would enforce ordinances in place to quell the disturbance, if overwhelmed the National Guard would be charged with restoring the peace. Should the units of the National Guard be overwhelmed (highly unlikely), American forces would shore up the defenses and use whatever force necessary to regain control. So this is my querry. What makes a foreign dictatorship of a sovreign nation employing the same tactics as any democracy to insure the peace any different? Would innocent civilians not die in a domestic conflict where known vigilantes were established to carry out operations? He who has the biggest stick will win. It's more like a clash of hooligans.
