One day when you need consumables you will be able to buy get service and repairs without shipping it somewhere ...Which welder are you looking at? Figure out what you will be welding in thickness and gauge the machine size from there . I personally bought the next size larger when I bought my Lincoln. If you are not planning on working 8 hours a day don't concern yourself with duty cycles. I personally don't have a problem with using a fluxcore wire - it gives good penetration but leaves some cleanup. In welding its all about penetration so if you were to add the gas and go with mig wire make sure to test weld on a piece and break it apart. It is easy to get a good looking weld but not have enough penetration |
