Well, isn't that the purpose? Owner buys a team, develops it, then sends them into battle with against other teams. He who wins makes lots of money. The players on the other hand notoriously spend their earnings on bling and end up back in the ghetto, if they're lucky. A lot will commit crimes, loose their contracts and end in jail or worse.
