Good morning to all!

I got back last night after leaving on Tuesday to drive my son up to Harrisonburg, VA for college. On the way up, saw great convoys of buckettrucks and linemen moving every which way on the highways. Asked some in the hotel parking lot who said they had been sent to SC but were now being staged to wait there (in the Shenandoha Valley) awaiting further developments on the storm. Driving down 95 on the way back passing multiple convoys going north and of course Corvettes heading to Carlisle By the way, that quake centered in Mineral, VA is only about 10 miles from my house that I'm renting out while in SC. No damage but scary for the tenants who called !

I drove the 02 Mustang to drop off my kid. At the college, I ran over a deep rut in the road caused by pavement buckling when the heavy trucks drive the pavement down in the heat. Caused an exhaust leak, but not too bad. Got to I-95 to start south and BAM! At a gas station, the exhaust fell off! Got a roll back to come and pick me up...got towed to a friends house who luckily has a lift. We put the car up (this is about 730 at night) and the flange had broken off from the exhaust manifold and was sitting on the downpipe. We ended up taking the manifold off, the down pipe down with its cats and welding the flange back onto the manifold. (he's got a MIG welder at his house!) Biggest PIA was to get the O2 sensors clipped back together due to where the plug is and the access issue!

I finally got back on the road at 1130 that night and then ended up staying in NC somewhere. Finished the drive home yesterday.

It was fortuitous that I broke down only about 20 miles from his place and that he has a lift and welding equipment and the time and ability to help me fix it. Otherwise, it would have been very painfull!!

On the bright side...I drove the Corvette to work...beautiful morning to be driving with the top down
