Whenever we didn't want to do classwork we would bring up Japan. His response was the same as the Three Stooges Niagra Falls episode. He was a Bataan Death March survivor and hated the Japanese with a passion. He would literally froth at the mouth and spit as he went into a raging tirade about how much he hated the Japs. Understadably so. Anybody that goes through that kind of shit in their lifetime will never make peace with their opressors. He was a really good guy. We just knew how to push his buttons. He's not the only one I know that went through stuff. He's just the one I remember with his passion for retribution. |
