Subject: Re: 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 Daytona by bogus on 2012/1/29 21:08:12 Interesting... If you want my harsh take, the Corvette = FAIL. The 2nd place team got their car within the last week, finished it, won pole and nearly won the race. I don't think that the Shank boys got their car any sooner. Good job to Shank Racing. They kicked ass. Got to give AJ serious props for his run. He looked real good out there. I was pulling for Ryan Dalziel's team. Ryan is married to an old friend of mine... known the girl since she was about born, to be honest. My niece was her matron of honor! It's kinda in the family in a strange way. I wanted to see the Vette do well, but I just wasn't expecting much for some reason... donno why... hard to put words to. Was pulling for Ollie Barreta in the Ferrari. They were pretty strong, just not strong enough. A few other random observations: Speed could have run coverage all night long if they wanted to... I am sure this was Speeds call, and if anything, rest the broadcast crews. It's all about contracts and fun things like that. I do agree their options for post coverage broadcast were debatable at best. WTF is this "Tronix-Country" shit? They are trying to sell 3 generation old crap for top dollar times five. This is beyond stupid consumerism, this is for the brain dead. If the lotto is for people bad at math, this is for people bad at everything. Damn. I have real estate to sell on what will be the California coast line after the big one. How many gold clad coins did you all buy? Any of the painted $2.00 bills? Who really buys this shit? It's rampant stupidity... I would love to see someone take one of those "collectibles" and try to pawn/sell it. HA! |
