This is a long discussion, but in general, consider a few things:
The whole middle and lower class in America lost a lot over the past few years.
Detroit seems to have lost more because it was already bad, but it has been losing jobs since the 1950's, not since 2008. So when did our "first act" actually start?
The outsourcing to LCC's (low cost countries) is NOT solely on the shoulders of our government (or the much maligned big corporations). It is also on the shoulders of these same middle and lower class Americans who a) refuse to do these blue collar jobs because we're "entitled" to better, and b) search high and low on the internet for the cheapest priced goods regardless of quality. Then come on the forums and complain.
For every hard working man or woman you know (like your pop, most likely) do you hear about 5 others that are carried by that person?
