His wife and he had the same level job and the same benefit structure. They each made 50K plus a year. (he makes about 33k now that he's retired) They have a couple of older girls. Don't know if they were carrying a mortgage or not but they lived in the house for a long time. 25+ years. He said screw it and put in his paperwork. He had about 34 years in. He didn't tell anybody. He quietly processed the paperwork and when the final day came told his friends/coworkers ... then his family. His wife hit the roof. Threw his ass out of the house. Last I heard he'd been out over 6 months. Looks like he could be a winner all around. Got the payday and is free from the old ball and chain to boot. This guys wife makes my wife look like an amateur when it comes to maintaining a relationship. He's a nice easy going guy and she is very demanding. (sounds familiar) What's interesting here is he told her what he planned on doing. She told him no. He did it anyway. Now he has to suffer the consequences. Or the bonuses. Guess it's all how you view it. |
