If this statement is true:
I read around and Valvoline claims the refining process is easier using used oil vs crude and you end up with the same quality standard.

then why does it cost more?
I'd be all over recycled products and being 'more green' if they'd make it like it should be. If it takes less effort/cost to recycle something then it should be therefore cheaper to purchase.
