After Hurricane Andrew almost 20 years ago, I seriously considered building a safe room. I haven't needed one but the comfort provided by having one is considerable. Anybody have one? Right now my central hallway would be the safest place in the house.

The storm has past. No big deal.

Yep. Actually it is a fully finished basement with living room and bedroom. Even have the cable and large screen TV down there. If we get serious tornado warnings we simply take the dog and head down the stairs. Actually the dog is usually already down there, she has some kind of built in early warning system of her own.

Basement furnace room for us but the newer homes are all putting in a concrete bunker room in the middle of the basement. Steel doors and everything......wet bar....internet connect....TV's...they are a lot better then the old storm cellers.....Hit the Movie Trailer button...
