It was a balmy 37 degrees this morning when I hopped in the car, so the steering wheel heater got its first use of the season. I picked up the Maxima from the body shop last night, looks almost like new again. One of the best teachers I ever had was my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Heikkela. She was quite stern, and always demanded your very best work. She always said, "Put your mind in motion before putting your mouth in gear." Toward the end of the school year, she caught me with a Mad Magazine, and confiscated it. That summer, I got a call from the principal, asking me to come down to the school. He presented me with a brand-new Mad Magazine, courtesy of Mrs. Heikkela. She had read mine, and decided to use it in her class to teach satire.
