The official good deal and hook up thread of C4guru.com

Subject: The official good deal and hook up thread of C4guru.com
by Josh on 2008/1/16 23:41:16

Hopefully we can get this stickied.

I tried this on another site with great results. I would of tried it on CF, but there's just too many people and too much BS to pull it off. On here though, it should work.

All right, I feel a certain amount of camaraderie for all of us who tread the waters here at www.c4guru.com. In that spirit, I suggest 'the hook up list.' It's a list of members and the things they can help other members out with. The list doesn't have to be car related. I love cars, and devote a ton of time and money to the hobby, but I still find myself in need of other things; beer, food, appliances, cell phones, hookers, etc...

It goes like this:

My name is Josh. I live in Raleigh, NC. I have a 2 car garage, a decent compliment of tools, and an extra bedroom. If anyone finds themselves in need of repair or a place to crash, let me know. I don't have any problem coming and getting you off the freeway at 2 AM Friday night, wrenching till dawn in my garage, all so you can go race on Saturday.

I work for Pepboys as a service manager. I can't do much with the shop, but I can get pretty good deals on some things. I have a pretty good hook up on KYB shocks, and I can do some pretty cool stuff with the alignment machine for $60 or so. I also can get some pretty good deals on tires, but you'll have to come to the store for that.

That's my contribution. The next poster will do theirs, and we're off and running.

THE LIST BY STATE:

California, Chatsworth - cuisinartvette - Im in the San Fernando valley, about 15-20 minutes northwest of UCLA - Im a licensed pool contractor, can get a good hookup on plaster, tile, mosaics, pool equiptment, etc... - More info in profile - Have a killer hookup on a first class machinist - Anyone that knows me will attest that Im always good for a meal and a place to crash if you're passing through or wanna cheap out on a hotel so you can spend more on hot dogs the next day at the track. No luxury service but the food hasnt killed Central Coaster yet and the heater works - PM me on here and/or check my profile for more contact information -

California, San Diego - Central Coaster - single car garage but lots of tools - good at locating hard to find part numbers and good prices on auto parts - I do consulting engineering for Mechanical, Heating/Air Conditioning, and building plumbing systems - pretty good with the building codes, so some of you Californians may find that useful if you need some design work done to get city approval and building permits - also do home improvement - PM me on here for more contact information -

California, Torrance - Bogus - I think his real name is Andy - Near LAX. So we are close to several freeways - If you have something break, I am not immune to bailing folks out - Be warned, we have no space to put people up over night - I am a software engineer/project leader - I have done just about everything in IT you can think of... PC repair, network admin, , I was even a certified HP Laser printer specialist at one point - Lots of tools - I can also build just about anything. If it needs assembled, call. Grills, sheds, Ikea furniture... I am a huge (but poor) audiophile and can offer advise on technologies and brands and help with installation - home improvements... minor electrical all the way up to major bathroom remodeling! Plumbing is easy, yo. Same with drywall and painting - PM me on here for more contact information -

Florida, Palm Beach Gardens - Tobijohn - Any questions about your in-ground swimming pool or you want to know which way the dollar looks to be going against the other major currencies, I can venture an informed opinion - I was in IT for a decade or so (PC repair, system configuration and integration, systems admin) but have been out of it for about five years. However, if you're having problems, I'll try to give a hand - PM or E-mail from here for more contact information -

North Carolina, Raleigh - Josh Kinzey - tools, garage, spare room, and works for Pepboys - joshkinzey@gmail.com - If you'll be in the area, E-mail me and I'll shoot you my number.

Ohio, Cuyahoga Falls - DaleD - I have is the ability to help if you need it. I may not know the C4, but what I am good at is taking what I know, and applying it to a given situation - I work in IT. I'm a database administrator - I have built pcs in the past, so I can still mess with them, but I'm not an expert - If you need a hand, or another pair of eyes, I can help - f you have computer questitons, if I don't know the answer, I can find it. If you want to know about Oracle databases, or Lawson ERP packages, I'm your guy! - PM on here for more contact info -

Oregon, Portland - Mike - captmike13 - I don't have a place really to work cars, I have a car port, but I am willing to help anyone out if I can - PM on here for more contact information -

Pennsylvania, Tyrone - dan0617 - I don't have a garage, but I am thrifty. I've put large rubber tires on an engine hoist once so I could change an engine outside in a stone driveway in the winter - I work 7am till 7pm in the summer as a superintendent on large highway projects. In the winter my schedule is slow so I have time to tinker or help others - My best quality is my memory, I can read something and usually remember it years later, which helps when a forum member asks a question. If I have read about someone having a similar problem I can usually remember the solution - If there are parts I have that someone can try for a diagnosis I'll gladly ship it out for you to try and ship it back when you are done - I'm also pretty good at knowing who is full of it and who is giving good advice - I have helped many friends do such things as emergency roofing jobs, digging up broken water lines, etc. and actually enjoy helping with things like that - PM me on here for more contact information -

Virginia, Winchester - Steve85 - I used to be Chevy tech, still have all my tools and 1 1/2 car garage to do just about anything - I am pretty close to a few interstates in the northwestern VA area (81, 66, and 70)and have a trailer if things are really bad - Also, if anyone is going to Summit Point for a track day and need to do some major work over the weekend I'm only 30minutes from there - PM on here for more contact info -
