Came home last night and started working on pulling the carpet tread off the stairs. I would like to find the guy that installed him and thank him. Apparently there was a big fear of tornados when my house was built, and this asshole wanted the carpet to be what held the house together if that ever occurred. Each tread has nearly 30 deep staples holding the carpet in. WTF? My hands are sore from pulling with pliers. I spent 2 1/2 hours and still didn't finish. I'll be done tonight in another 1/2 hour or so. Ugh.

The installers that put my carpet in the living room and on the stairs did that too. Hundreds of them in the living room. Pulling all those sucked.

Then I had the master bedroom done, $50 to install and haul.

Those guys came in, put a long handled scraper under one edge of the carpet and pulled a 12 x 16 piece of carpet, staples and all in less that 5 minutes.

They only had two staples left in the floor when done and they pulled those with the scraper.
