My theory, populations centers lack the moral fiber to maintain group participation and fellowship. Harsh? Yes. Small towns have kept the American Dream and friendships alive and well. Point? Drive around any big city and wave at the next car or pedestrian. I'll bet they either didn't pay attention, didn't understand why anyone would wave let alone smile or make eye contact, or your "creeping them out". Try the same thing in a small town and they will smile or wave back. Most of the time. But if your bald or grey they're just creeped out

Yep WW2 vets are almost gone. But a whole new group of vets are back filling the ranks. Slowly but its happening again.
