After about 5 days I really never even thought much about smoking. I was on that prescription for 4 months. I have to admit, that I think quiting in the middle of winter helped a great deal. I never smoked in the house and would go outside. Well, in the winter your not out as much anyway. It was the first week of June when I realized that I had this habit kicked. Heading to Kalamazoo, MI during the first leg of the Hot Rod Power Tour in the pouring down rain, I had a flat tire. By the time I got the spare on, I was soaking wet. I got the car to the closest service station, and they fixed the flat and got me back on the road in about 30 minutes. After all that, if I would have had a pack of cigarettes with me I think I would have smoked the whole pack. That's when I knew I had made it. This is a very addictive habit, and you really have to want to quit bad in order to make it. You smokers all know that. That time had come for me. For all those thinking about quiting, it's tough but you can do it if you really want too. :thumbleft: |
