Soooo you pay 1K now to save paying 1300 down the road...?

Yes, you prepay and get a break in overall cost. At least 30% savings on my car. The trans fluid service on my car at the dealer is $400 (takes 2 hours), that has to be done every 40k. If I do it myself for about $130 in parts plus $100 tool and you need specialized software to purge the trans. There is a "backyard" way to do it where you drain the oil, measure it, and refill it exactly which I will probably do once the car is out of warranty. I also need a special tool for the clutch fluid as well as a few other things. Once I am out of warranty I will start doing my own work, but until then I will have the dealer do it. And I don't get dirty
