Speed up your PC |
Subject: Speed up your PC by JrRifleCoach on 2014/8/13 17:38:17 I came across a neat little trick that really worked for my PC. I can't claim it will work for everybody. So maybe we can all (those that tinker) give this a try and compare results. The MS system uses a "pagefile" that buffers memory to the hard drive. (OK there's more to it but now's not the time) This file normally resides on the "C" drive and shares resources with the OS. I moved the pagefile to its own partition on the primary drive. Basically put, a 1GB partition was created at the end of drive0. Lets call this the "P" drive. Then the pagefile was removed from the C and recreated on the P. Restart required. Since the change, there really "seems" to be an increase in overall performance. If you already know what I'm talking about, I'd encourage you to give it a try. Steve |
