I jumped into sportscars as an empty nester when I could do what I wanted to do again. I drove the cars regularly when I worked for a living. I was lucky enough to spend over 5 seasons autocrossing. I still love the cars, occasionally drive the cars but I don't roam from home much anymore except to do a few things for the company. I don't like to waste money on things like restaurant meals, especially when Sue and I can make better meals at home. I don't hang out. Don't go to club meetings or events. I love cruising and gambling on the ships, occasional concerts and nice rides down into the Keys. Burnt out on dealing with people pretty much except for a few. But I do like to drive and bring some of my favorite cd's along for a trip down memory lane and some spirited driving. I haven't lost interest. I just have varied interests. It's tough to share my time with all the things I enjoy doing. Gardening, birding ( I like looking at the different local birds ), salt water fishing, caring for animals, building up the property, maintaining everything and the car hobby all get pieces of my time. I'm not as fast as I used to be but I get everything done (pretty much) That's my story and I'm stickin to it. |
